21st July 2021
Tomorrow was yet another online year but this time it was my first standard. I went to bed rather sad and not really excited for I had thoroughly enjoyed my holidays.
The next morning I got up at 6:45 and was busy setting up the place for the class. As we were setting up the camera I happened to glance up and I saw that it showed a very welcome note: ‘Megha Goel is in the call’. It was then I realised that only my new teacher Ms.Megha was there in the call. This is a very good opportunity I thought. I’ll get some time to talk to her. So I grabbed the ‘fat opportunity’ and joined in. Then I had a few words with her and then went on mute. I thought I liked her because she was calm, composed and soft-spoken. As the children began to join in I came to realise that they were mixed with new and old children. The first child to log in was someone called Kiara. Then the children started filling in one by one. The first activity was a song. It went like this: We are the Cool Cats, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow and so on and on and on it went. Sometimes I got bored and sometimes I got interested. In the middle of the class Ms.Megha told us to look anywhere but the screen for a break from the computer for twenty seconds because, as everyone knows, computers aren’t good for the eyes. As I hadn’t heard the children’s voice for a long time, I felt they were shouting and screaming and sometimes I thought I was going a bit deaf.
The next class was rather short and that finished very quickly. I logged off and was soon buried in my book.
And that’s it about my busy day.
I also look forward to tomorrow’s two classes as this one was very interesting. I guess the year ahead will hold surprises and lots of other things for me to enjoy.
