Namma Chennai!

Walking through the streets,

I glance around.

Not a shop

Without the hustle and bustle

Of people,

Like the waves sweeping the Marina,

In and out, in and out,

The glistening water,

The sparkling sand,

In the sunlight we all live...

In Namma Chennai!

As I settle into a jog,

I realise what a beautiful place,

A glimpse at the Napier’s,

Wants me to thank the man,

John Napier…..

What a vision

He’s created!

I hope he’s resting in peace,

Like the peace we enjoy living,

In Nama Chennai

I ease into a run,

With trains chugging past me,

As I find myself staring,

At the Chennai Central,

I wonder how many of the English,

Have boarded these trains….

To reach their land,

Leaving us free,

In Namma Chennai!

I could go on and on…”

But I’m afraid I too

Have to return to where I came from

My home, right in the heart of

Nama Chennai!
